Restoration and Reupholstery

We offer a comprehensive service for the restoration or repair of antique furniture, re-upholstery of chairs and sofas and the restoration of clocks and barometers.  Perhaps you have:
•    A prized piece or family heirloom (possibly an inheritance) which is in need of some tender loving care in order to restore it to its former glory

•    An attractive piece which has been stuck in an attic or a spare room for years but you now want to restore it and give it pride of place

•    A good three-piece suite that has served you well but needs re-covering and re-conditioning or a set of dining chairs that have become loose in the joints and need refurbishing and re-covering

•    Pieces that have been damaged by flood or fire damage.

Our small team of skilled craftsmen have over 100 years of furniture restoration experience between them.  Each has different specialities to help revitalise your items.  We can undertake a huge variety of work – from the smallest items or repairs (such as removing water marks or re-polishing) to a house-full of pieces requiring a major overhaul.
After our work, your items will look like they are supposed to – taking great care with delicate or particularly old pieces.  Traditional materials are used where appropriate, and we will also make sure that we follow modern regulations such as using fire-retardant upholstery.
We offer a full collection and delivery service across the UK and all our work is guaranteed for 12 months.
Do not just take our word for it.  Here are a couple of examples of recent projects.  The first is an antique, bow-fronted corner cupboard which had been damaged by steam from a malfunctioning boiler over an extended period.  Now expertly restored, this piece is proudly displayed by its owners in their house on Anglesey.

This long case clock had been left in a derelict, unloved state for many years.  After a complete mechanical overhaul and casework repair it is now performing (in Somerset) exactly as was intended when it was first made by craftsmen 200 years or so ago – and probably looks as good as when it was first made.

Finally, we recently restored an Edwardian 7-piece salon set.

We can quote for insurance claims and will always try to give a guide price before providing a formal quote.
